Abstract

Abstract. In June of 1957, a study was begun of the primary productivity of natural and managed plant communites in central and northern Minnesota. This study is supported by the Louis W. and Maud Hill Family Foundation. The major aim of the project is to develop sampling techniques for estimating productivity in land communities, and emphasis the first year was on the harvest sampling method. The following presentation gives results of application of the harvest method for the growing season, 1957.
