I study the community ecology of disease in a variety of systems. As an undergraduate, I worked on amphibian and macroinvertebrate communities in ponds and the frog-killing chytrid fungus. As a Ph.D. student, I studied how predation, competition, and rapid evolution shaped the size of epidemics in populations of zooplankton (Daphnia dentifera) in lakes.
