Plots (1m x 0.5m) inside fenced microplots (E001) in fields C and D and transects outside the exclosures were sampled for percent cover of legumes. The legumes were identified to species. Percent cover of other plants (non-legumes) was also done, but these plants were not identified to species, but categorized as other forbs, grasses and woody vegetation. Inside exclosures D001 and C001, plots sampled were those receiving fertilizer treatments I, A, C and H (5 plots/treatment in D001 and 6 plots/treatment in C001). Four control plots inside the D003 exclosure were also sampled. Outside the exclosures in field D, transects perpendicular to the exclosure fence were laid out and 1m x 0.5m plots were examined at random intervals along the transect.
