Sampling for A059

In 1989, percent cover estimates were done for all species in all the plots of A059. Density estimates were also done for Ambrosia elatior, Lespedeza capitata, Euphorbia glyptosperma, Euphorbia supina and Polygonum convolvulus. Height measurements were taken for 5 individuals of Ambrosia elatior and 5 individuals of Lespedeza capitata in each plot. Maximum width measurements were taken for 5 individuals of Euphorbia glyptosperma and 5 individuals of Euphorbia supina in each plot.

In 1990, the number of seedlings of Andropogon gerardi and Schizachyrium scoparium in the right .5m by 2m of each plot was estimated. The position of each seedling was noted with a color coded toothpick. On July 16, the percent cover of all species in the right 1m by 2m of each plot was estimated.

In 1991, the height of each planted seedling was measured on May 16, June 12, July 10, August 10 and September 4. On July 16, the percent cover of all species in the right 1m by 2m of each plot was estimated.

In 1993, percent cover estimates were done for all species in all plots of A59. In each plot, two .5 X .5m sections were sampled. The sections were opposite each other, one in the NE (upper left) and the other in the SW corner (lower right) of each plot.

Sampling Problems A059
