Plants were collected from the large Wedin/Tilman monocultures (E026). Six plants per species were collected from plot 11, high nitrogen soil, and from plot 2, low nitrogen soil. Species sampled were Agropyron repens, Schizachyrium scoparium, Poa pratensis and Andropogon gerardi. All samples were added to 100ml vials with 50ml of a 0.01 mM NH3NO3 solution. Samples were taken at 17, 32 and 60 minutes. Uptake #2 was done using 1.0mM NH3NO3. The same plants were used as those used for uptake #1. Samples were taken at 16, 33 and 60 minutes.
