The study was conducted in four ecosystems:
1. An upland oak site.
2. An oak savanna.
3. An ash swamp.
4. The old fields.
Two stands were used from each ecosystem. Each stand is widely distributed over the natural area to cover Cedar Creek. A twenty five meter transect was sampled from each stand as discussed in E044.
At five week intervals, Microbial Biomass, Carbon, Nitrogen, Nitrogen mineralization, nitrification and denitrification were determined.
