Plants of Cedar Creek

Four species of Verbena (Vervains) are found on the Area.  All bear several spikes of small blue flowers.  V. hastata (Blue Vervain) is the common marsh species. V. stricta (Hoary Vervain) is found in the old field at the entry to CBL. V. bracteata was found in the Lab parking lot.  V. urticifolia (White Vervain) occurs at the Heckenlaible homesite.
