Family OPHIOGLOSSACEAE

(Adder's Tongue Family)

   The Adder’s Tongue Family is represented by three species of Botrychium (Grape Ferns).   B. multifidum (Leathery Grape-fern) is an uncommon fern of aspen groves in the SE part of the Area. B. virginianum (Rattlesnake Fern) is found in lowland woods (Crone’s Knoll).  B. simplex (Small Grape-fern) was found in 1992? by Eric Wardenaar in Field C. Ophioglossum pusillum (Adder’s Tongue) is an uncommon fern found around the wet depression in MEM.
