Plants of Cedar Creek

 Family HALORAGACEAE

(Water-milfoil Family)

Myriophyllum sibiricum (Water milfoil) is the sole representative of the Water-milfoil Family at Cedar Creek.  It is a common finely branched submerged aquatic in Fish Lake and other ponds on the Area.

Myriophyllum verticillatum (Eurasian Water milfoil) is an aggressive non-native aquatic spreading throughout Minnesota.  Before it arrives here one should be on the lookout for the native milfoils (M. farwellii, M. tenellum).
