Plants of Cedar Creek

The sole representative of the Jewelweed Family at Cedar Creek is Impatiens capensis (Spotted Touch-me-not).  It is an abundant species of wooded swamp and marshes.  Seeds explode from its ripening pods at the slightest provocation--hence the epithet 'touch-me-not'.
