Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve

Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve

Teacher Training

Teacher training opportunities at Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve (CCESR) aim to improve student achievement in biological science by improving the quality and effectiveness of teachers’ delivery of ecological science curriculum. Specifically, they are designed to enhance teacher and student understanding of fundamental ecological principles and the impacts of various human-induced disturbances on ecosystem health and function. The Cedar Creek program is augmented by outside organizations using CCESR as a venue for their science education workshops.

The focus of training has historically been teachers in the four school districts immediately surrounding CCESR. This circle is growing as CCESR widens its training scope and more external educational groups, with larger target audiences, begin to use the facility.
